We have over 100 Junior members (boys and girls) from Under 9s to Under 18s.  We provide qualified coaching all year round  for our young players. We are also committed to ensuring they have opportunities to play Senior cricket as they get older. We welcome players of all backgrounds and abilities and aim to foster a lifelong enjoyment of the game.

Outdoor training starts on Friday 7 April, at the club on Kingsbrook Road, and continues every Friday until 2 September. U9s: 5-6pm; u10s & u11s 6-7pm; u15s 7-8pm. In May, these times move 30 mins later.

U13s train Sunday mornings, 9.30am-11am, and u18s rain with the seniors but some sessions will be organised specifically for this age group. Please contact relevant coaches for more details.

In Junior cricket, we offer opportunities from the age of 5 with All Stars in May and June. The juniors are then able to train with the U9s and U10s throughout the Summer on Friday evenings, with a number of soft ball friendly pairs games organised on other nights.

Summer Cricket Camp

Every summer, we host cricket camps for 5-12 year old boys and girls. This year, they will run every weekday from Monday 24 July to Friday 2 September, and thanks to funding from Manchester city council, we can keep prices at just £15 per child per day, and £7.50 for siblings. Fully qualified coaches, all kit provided, all abilities welcome. Drop off is 9.30-10am, and pick-up is 3-30pm.

We are determined to improve and expand our opportunities for women and girls to play cricket at Whalley Range, and are delighted to announce the introduction of a girl's squad to the Junior section in 2022. With an 18-month plan in place to develop our girl's cricket programme at the club for players of all abilities.  This will begin with an indoor winter training programme starting in January 2022.  If you are interested in getting involved as a player, coach or parent please contact: Matt Palmer on

NEW PLAYERS

New players are always welcome in both the Senior and Junior sections. We pride ourselves on providing cricket for all tastes, backgrounds, ages and abilities. Our 1st XI and both 2nd XI offer high quality competitive Saturday league cricket striving to play the highest standard they can and aiming to be as successful as possible.

On Sundays our 3rd XI plays a good competitive standard that provides a great platform for developing our promising junior players, while our 4th XI and 5th XI play less competitive cricket perfect for casual players and newcomers to the Senior game.

Our Midweek XI, casual sides and occasional Sunday Friendlies are for anyone who just wants to enjoy an evening or afternoon's cricket in a semi-competitive environment, followed by a drink in the bar.

We also organise weekly winter training sessions for Seniors and Juniors from October-March at nearby William Hulme Grammar school. More details from Mike Hill on 07894961530.

We are always looking for sponsors who want to help us continue to improve our facilities and junior coaching. If interested, please contact chairman
