A brilliant performance against Cheadle last night from start to finish.

Whalley Range won the toss and elected to bat on a very sunny evening. Openers Tom and Ayaan got us off to a flying start, both seeing the ball superbly and setting the tone for the innings.

Abdul and Lakhan then shared an excellent partnership, with both retiring after keeping the scoreboard moving strongly. Raphy and Zayyan continued the momentum towards the end, taking us to an impressive total of 166.

With the ball, Dylan struck in the very first over to immediately put Cheadle under pressure. He was well supported by Zayyan, before two of our Eagles, Stanley and Billy, stepped up brilliantly into the Lions team.

Once Stanley found his rhythm and range, he began picking up wickets, while Billy bowled exceptionally tight lines and produced some lovely seam movement picking up a couple of wickets. Ayaan and Hashim also got amongst the wickets to complete an excellent all-round bowling performance.

There is still a little work to do in the field, as we gave away a few runs that could prove costly in tighter matches. However, overall, this was a dominant and thoroughly deserved victory.
