In the first round of South Manchester Cup our Lions traveled to Disley to play the North East Cheshire Hurricanes on Thursday evening.
Having battled through problematic traffic the Lions were inserted on a dry and firm wicket. A solid opening partnership between Zayan and Finlay offered a great platform for our middle order. Although the wicket took time to assimilate to Zeki and Jack both retired before the lower order scored freely, with some great shots notably from Edward. A target of 170 was set.
An early strike from Billy opened the door before the 'Angus show' commenced with Lyla on debut delivering a 3 wicket maiden in her first over for the team. Brother Jack then stepped up and bowled a 2 wicket maiden and the Hurricane's innings quickly fell away scoring just 20 all out.
Some excellent catches from Dhilan and great fielding all round was notable and testament to training drills.
All round a very solid performance - well done Lions!!
